Can i access dropbox via ftp

I think the issue is more of access to the correct protocols. It would be great to be able to point it at my DropBox account, but clearly that's not possible at this point. I am also looking for a way to ftp to my dropbox.

In my case i need to ftp my backup file directly from the hosting company. The hosting company provides an ftp setup but not a dropbox client interface.

Is there any option in the future to provide ftp access? Otherwise i am faced with ftp do my local pc then dropbox client to upload to dropbox It does not look like File Request will work.
